The Spanish is Canada’s first synagogue. It traces its history back to 1768. In its practices and customs, the synagogue has maintained its Sephardic traditions from the outset. Nevertheless, it serves a diverse community and welcomes families from sundry backgrounds. The synagogue’s activities focus on fostering the knowledge of our traditions, the study of Torah and the promotion of cultural activities for women and men as well as our youth which takes into account the dynamic of today’s Jewish world.
Thanks to our committees and volunteers who work closely with our rabbis and staff, the Congregation is able to provide its members with a rich and varied program of activities.
We invite you to avail yourself of the services of the Congregation and to take part in our community’s life. We look forward to welcoming you in our midst.
J. Archibald, President
